AMERICAN CUISINE

It is safe to assume that American food is fast-food, considering the proliferation of American fast-food chains in almost every country of the world. However, it is much more than that. Actually, American cuisine is like the country itself - a melting pot of cooking styles.

Like other countries American cuisine adapts and in some cases, actually improves upon the original. The "hamburger" for instance is an American creation that resulted from the tough, cured meats that German immigrants brought to the New Word. Others like the New England Clam Chowder and the New York Cheesecake are inspired regional recreations of ostensibly Old World provenance.
