JAPANESE CUISINE

A certain purity and simplicity characterize the cuisine of Japan. This perhaps is brought about not only by the Zen philosophy that pervades the country, but also its obsession with a certain astringent or clean look that transcends even how its citizens prepare food.

As such, you can hardly see richly colored and prepared dishes. Although sauces are used for cooking, they are likely French cuisine only meant to enhance the food and not overpower it. Moreover, there is great pride in the way food is presented, as food is styled not only to delight the sense of taste but other senses as well.
