Roti Canai


Ingredients:

3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cup warm water
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp butter (or margarine)
1 pc egg
sugar to taste
cooking oil

Preparation:

1. Combine the flour, water, salt, butter, egg, and sugar. Mix.

2. Knead the resulting dough until soft and pliable.

3. Form the dough into balls. Keep overnight.

4. To prepare the roti canai: Spread oil on the balls and flatten.

5. Heat a griddle and fry the rotis until cooked. The resulting roti canai should be light but chewy.

6. Serve with curry or any spicy sauce of your choice.
