Fried Cheese


Ingredients:

2 eggs, beaten
3 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp dried ground oregano
1 cup flour
vegetable oil for frying
1 onion, finely chopped
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 kilo cheese (Cheddar or Mozzarella, your choice), sliced into 1/2 inch thick pieces

Preparation:

1. Mix the breadcrumbs, oregano, salt, and onions in a bowl. In a separate bowl, mi the flour, egg, and milk.

2.Heat enough oil in a pan for frying (about 2 to 3 inches deep).

3. Meanwhile, dip the cheese into the flour mixture, then into the breadcrumb mixture. Allow to dry for about 15 minutes.

4. Fry the cheese in oil for 3 minutes of until done. Fry both side of the cheese. Place in paper towels to absorb excess oil prior to serving.
