New England Clam Chowder


Ingredients:

1/8 kilo salted pork, cubed
2 onions, minced
1 kilo clams, shucked
8 pcs potatoes, diced
6 cups water
salt to taste
1/2 tsp ground pepper
3 cups milk
8 pcs crackers, split and soaked in cold milk

Preparations:

1. Brown the salted pork in a kettle. Add onions and cook for 3 minutes.

2. meanwhile shuck the clams by removing the stomach. Chop the clam meat.

3. Add the clams, along with the potatoes to the salted pork and onions. Cover with water. Let boil until potatoes are tender.

4. Add the milk and season to taste. Heat to boiling.

5. Add the crackers that have been soaked in milk. Heat thoroughly. Serve hot.
